What counts as "large format" tile?
Anything 15 inches or larger on a side qualifies as large format under industry standards. Most of what we install runs 24×48, 30×60, or larger slabs up to 60×120.
Why is large format tile more expensive?
The tile itself is more expensive per square foot, but the bigger cost is labor and prep. Large format needs a perfectly flat substrate, thicker mortar coverage, leveling clips, and special handling tools.
Can you tile over my existing floor?
Sometimes. If the existing floor is solid, flat, and structurally sound, we can install over it with the right uncoupling membrane (like Schluter Ditra). If not, we demo first.
How long until I can walk on new tile?
Walking on tile floors: usually 24 hours after grouting. Showering on tile walls/floor: usually 48–72 hours.
Do you handle the demo of old tile?
Yes — demo, debris removal, substrate evaluation, and any underlayment work are included in the estimate.
What about heated floors?
We install Schluter DITRA-HEAT, NuHeat, and similar electric radiant systems under tile.
